The Life Journey on the Divine Path

From time to time, God-loving personalities appear on earth in the form of saints. On the sacred soil of India, from time immemorial, such saints and great men have appeared whose birth and deeds were great and whose life was full of God-love and self-knowledge. These saints spread the name of God on the earth and gave the message of dedication to God to every human being. Following the teachings of those saints, innumerable men and women attained Godhead and attained enlightenment and became free from life.

The attainment of God at the birth of man is the true and greatest achievement, but without the grace of the sant-sadguru, one cannot reach that achievement. It is the saints who kindly unite the living entity with God.

The glory of such saints is immense; Salutations are at their feet time and again. One of the names in the series of saints who appeared in India is the most revered Sant Shri Lokeshananda Ji Maharaj. Sri Gurudev is such a unique saint, only by coming in the presence of whom the feeling of God-devotion in the mind and joy in the heart begins. Sri Gurudev is the good fortune of India and also the spiritual identity of the country. He is such a Sadhguru whom innumerable disciples worship in the temple of their heart.

Because of the presence of the divine part, the adverse circumstances of life also became a boon for them. Knowing very well the futility of the world at a young age, he left the world and walked on the path of devotion to God. Today, his life is an inspiration for the entire world. Let’s see the journey of his great life.

On 21 February 1980, in the city of Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Shri Gurudev took birth at 7:05 AM in a Brahmin family of the Bharadwaj gotra. It is said that devotees who leave their bodies while progressing on the path of God take birth again in noble families to complete their spiritual journey. Thus, Shri Gurudev incarnated from the womb of the devout mother Smt. Lalita Devi. His father’s name was Shri Virendra Kumar, who passed away in December 2004.

The Divine Childhood and Renunciation of Shri Gurudevji

Shri Gurudevji possessed a brilliance and seriousness from birth. From childhood, he was raised with his younger sister at his maternal grandfather’s house. At the age of seven or eight, while playing with other children, he would sit in a meditative posture like a yogi and begin to meditate on Lord Narayana. When asked, he would happily say, “I love this game.”

Shri Gurudev pursued secular education, completing only up to the 10th class. Even during his student days, his mind remained deeply rooted in devotion.

Once by chance you saw a burning pyre somewhere.  As you walked, your feet stopped. At that moment your conscience explained to the mind wandering in the world that this is the end of life. In a life where there is a blind race, there is anger, there is hatred, there is greed, there is heat and there is resentment. There is a feeling of happiness and joy for a while, but then the sadness fades away. Such a life ends with death. Then, if there is no knowledge, another life full of ignorance begins. A new race that has no end, yet man keeps running.

The sons, family, and relatives for whom a man toils throughout his life, are the ones who one day consign him to the flames in the crematorium. Wandering in ignorance, the soul is reborn again, ensnared in attachment, and then, upon death, departs.

Ignorance of the soul keeps a soul in the cycle of birth and death for many lifetimes; only devotion to God can destroy this cycle. Thus, your past sanskars have awakened the spirit of devotion in your mind. Upon death, all wealth and prosperity are lost, and worldly attainments are transformed into non-attainments; therefore, there is no essence anywhere except in God.
While contemplating this truth repeatedly in your mind, a voice came from your conscience –
“Leave it before the world leaves you.”

Holding this resolve in his heart, at the tender age of just 15, he renounced worldly education, relationships and attachments, and stepped firmly onto the Supreme Path of God–realization.

The philosophy of God’s grace – as Guru

At the very beginning of your journey on this supreme path, you experienced God’s grace in the form of a Guru. In the solitude of Shrikshetra Ganeshpuri in Maharashtra, the knowledgeable, devotion-proven Mahatma Shri Achyutananda Ji Maharaj, who was completely away from worldly affairs and fame, accepted you as his disciple. Shortly after, he passed away, and you were unable to enjoy his company for long.

“Even a short period of guidance and the sacred presence of the Guru opened the eyes of his inner wisdom. After his Sadguru merged into the Supreme, he continued to feel his Guru’s presence with him at all times. Guided by his teachings, he moved forward on the path of devotion. He undertook intense spiritual practices at many sacred places. The remembrance and devotion of Shri Padmanabha Narayan Bhagwan remained the central focus of his sadhana. For nearly ten years, he traveled across the land in pilgrimage and deep penance. At the completion of this profound period of spiritual practice, he attained divine knowledge.”

As soon as you feel God in your heart, your life becomes divine. You were for some time immersed in the blissful depths of divine realizations. After the situation matured, God inspired you to share the feeling of devotion within you for the welfare of the world. Then, at a very young age, he began to inculcate the feeling of devotion in the hearts of the inquisitive through his experience as a great Sadhguru of spirituality.

Today, countless men and women are following the path of God after listening to your words. You shine as a great Sadguru, residing in many hearts across the world. Observing your divine deeds, one experiences the fullness of the divine essence within you. Disciples who receive initiation from you become worthy of God’s grace.

You are such a great man whose grace is bestowed only upon the fortunate. Seeing and being in your presence is extremely rare. Those who follow your commandments will never face misfortune, for God himself resides within your heart.

Today, the entire human race is getting the privilege of benefiting from your supreme knowledge.

“Darshan of the Lord and reverent worship lead to spiritual upliftment. Therefore, visiting a temple is an act of merit, and building a temple is an act of the highest merit. One who contributes to the construction of a temple attains eternal residence in the divine abode.”
